USA Softball of Cincinnati Home Run Challenge at Great American Ball Park

Patrick Floyd Foster of Premier Softball won the first USA Softball of Cincinnati Home Run Challenge on July 25 at Northside K of C Softball Complex. Foster, who won the competition on his final swing of the bat, not only took home a new bat from event co-sponsor Monsta Athletics but also was featured on the Softball 360 television show (another event co-sponsor).

With his win he also advanced to participate in the Cincinnati stop of the Monsta Militia Power Tour held July 27 at Great American Ball Park. That event was won by Flip Washington who led the way before 35,409 Reds fans on a warm Friday night, using his Monsta Athletics bat to it’s maximum advantage. Washington said *“ The crowd was amazing, it was a classic hot summer night, myself and my Monsta Athletics bat were in a groove, softball sure can be a whole lot of fun ! “*Foster, who placed sixth in that competition after leading off with five bombs, showed that he is almost ready for prime time, said “ *It was an honor to hit with the Monsta Athletics Sluggers in front of my home town. Special thanks to Monsta Athletics, the Reds and USA Softball, all class organizations. “ *

The Home Run Challenge was open to all USA Softball of Cincinnati players with additional invitations being sent to other local associations in Reds Country – Ohio, Dayton, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia. According to USA Softball of Cincinnati Interim Commissioner Jerry Fick “the event was presented at no cost to our participants as a ‘thank you’ for being part of the USA Softball program. All of our leagues actively promoted the event which drew a large crowd on a beautiful summer evening.”
