It is with much sadness that I report the passing of former USA Softball umpire Gus Baumgartner. Gus was a mentor to many of our current umpires and was always ready to help our newer umpires as they advanced in their careers. Gus worked at the highest levels of softball including many USA Softball National Championships and OHSAA State Tournaments. He continued to umpire as long as his health would allow and then stayed in the game to help others by observing and coaching.
He will be missed by all of us and we send our sympathies to his family. To leave condolences for his family please visit — www.evansfuneralhome.com/obituaries/?s=
